Can't get the "Chat Room".

Getting message "Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher".

Any idea(s) of how to get past this?

Hi Back,

I think that it is specific to my computer . . . before it probably accepted "unknown publishers" . . . now it does not.

When I can get some time, I'll probably be able to figure it out.

Just an update . . . in case anyone else ever has this problem with chat rooms.

I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it.

Voila! . . . Chat room access is possible!

Hopefully, the problem has been permanently solved.

Problem was when I ran Norton One Button Checkup ("OBC"), I could not access STC Chat thereafter . . . message had to do with not being able to verify the publisher and telling me to install Java (which I have always had).

Never could do anything about the publisher verification, however, reinstalling Java each time after running Norton OBC, would make STC Chat functional again . . . however, this is impractical.

So, after running OBC Scan portion only (not the Fix portion), I looked at each of the 600 or so entries for Fix that OBC Scan had identified for "Fix" (probably means deletion) and right clicked "Ignore" for the 7 total (6 Java, 1 STC) entries in the 4 different categories.

Voilà, no more problems accessing STC Chat due to having run Norton OBC!

So, anyone having problems accessing STC Chat, (or maybe other sites as well) the problem may be in your antivirus or cleanup applications. By looking at the files identified for action, you may be able to solve the problem.
